What exactly is wellbeing?

It’s a state of being comfortable, happy and healthy.

Our wellbeing is so important to our mental health as well as our physical health.

What is mindfulness?

Being conscious or aware of something. Focusing on the present moment while accepting one’s feelings, thoughts and sensations. One of the best ways to start improving our wellbeing is to practice mindfulness.

What about Meditation?

A set of techniques that encourage a heightened state of awareness and focused attention. Meditation is a great tool to help improve our wellbeing.

So, what is mindfulness meditation?

It’s a type of ‘training’ that helps you to calm your body and mind by reducing racing thoughts, be focussed and in the present, let go of negativity. Being in the here and now, accepting your thoughts, feeling and sensations without any judgement about them. Most commonly deep breathing is used to achieve the desired effect.

What is the difference between meditation and mindfulness meditation?

Meditation on its own is the awareness of ‘no thing’ and mindfulness meditation is being aware of ‘some thing’.

Now I don’t know about you but I would say everyone would love to improve their wellbeing to feel comfortable, happy and healthy, right?

Improving our wellbeing has so many benefits and there are so many things we can do to help but mindfulness and meditation are a great place to start!
